Trion Worlds is seeking a Build Engineer who excels at and will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of build systems and processes, as well as tools recommendations and implementations. The successful candidate will also contribute as a C++ programmer, tackling challenging tasks not necessarily in their area of expertise. This combination role requires diligence, attention to detail, the ability to effectively multitask, and a strong history of getting things done in a timely and practical manner with minimal supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
? Develop, design, and improve build automation, tools, scripts and processes for greater flexibility and performance
? Develop, enhance, and maintain fully automated build and release system
? Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot daily builds
? Track and report status and metrics
? Support the deployment of builds to live environments, maintaining source and data branches in version control and debugging issues related to deployment
? Recommend and develop company tools to aid with development, such as operations tools, source control tools, and data processing tools
? Identify, create, and implement processes and products to efficiently manage releases
Create builds of game for distribution to non-engineering staff
Assist with authoring, refactoring, and maintenance of complex tools
Assist with implementation and debugging of game features as needed
Diagnose and resolve problems within the data path from tools to game
REQUIREMENTS
Visual Studio, C, C++, and object-oriented programming experience
? Strong familiarity with Windows development; Linus experience a plus
? Familiarity with source code control tools and processes
? Experience developing builds, including use of make files and Windows solution files
? Knowledge of configuration management
? Strong familiarity with version control tools (ideally Perforce)
? Strong, effective communication skills across multiple disparate disciplines
? Detail oriented, self-critical, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong drive to learn and grow as a professional
BA/BS in computer science or equivalent, with a minimum of one year in software development
PLUSES
Strong 3D math skills
Familiarity with FinalBuilder (or other build automation tools)
Familiarity with MMORPGs
