GameFly is looking for a Build Engineer to join the fun and innovative environment at GameFly. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working as a Build Engineer. The Build Engineer will serve as a coordinator between the Development, QA, and Product Management departments deploying software to our QA and Productions systems. Due to the rapid growth of our business, we need an individual who is highly adaptable and versatile.
Core Qualifications
Experience with software releases and configuration management.
Programming background in object-oriented languages (C#, C++, Java, ASP.NET, MVC, etc).
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and MSBuild.
Familiar with the .NET framework and assembly deployments including Web services, Windows services or web applications.
Experience in debugging OS issues that are encountered with application builds and deployments.
Know the principles of Continuous Integration and how to apply them.
Experience with Microsoft Windows 2003 & 2008 Standard and Enterprise versions.
Experience with SQL Server 2005 & 2008 Standard and Enterprise versions.
Experience with SQL, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and Views.
Understanding of hardware configurations and networks.
Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to show strong leadership.
Knowledge of SDLC. SCRUM practices and Agile Methodologies a plus.
Knowledge of CDN and Content Management tools is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate between the Development, QA, and the Product Management teams to ensure that both internal and external facing software is deployed on schedule and reliably.
Work closely with QA team to get the releases coordinated and deployed to the QA and Production environments.
Drive best practices, standardize processes and development tools across systems to streamline and automate the build and release processes.
Work with multiple teams to troubleshoot deployment issues and provide production support.
Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment. Perform repository branching used for parallel efforts, and manage the merge process as part of release migration.
Experience
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years experience analyzing data, documenting and reporting business requirements, processes and operation outcomes, and developing reports.
Experience in developing custom reports/databases of varying complexities.
