The Job:
Gemvara is seeking an experienced Build / Release Engineer to join our innovative team of e-commerce revolutionaries. As a Build / Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of the build, configuration, and release management process for the core e-commerce platform. Gemvara uses Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Puppet, Perforce, and the Atlassian product suite on Linux platforms. While we are always looking for the best and brightest, we do not hire solely on a specific skill set. Rather, we hunger for new ideas so if you think you would do it differently, we?re open and interested.
What You?ll Be Doing:
Gemvara's patented technology and just-in-time manufacturing offers customers millions of options to personalize each design. We have a true virtual inventory model where each piece is manufactured to order at the highest possible quality. The technical challenges in product development are significant, including navigating a world of user-generated content. We are building an e-commerce product set that is unique to the industry. You will be working closely with the engineers to build efficiencies in the software development process and improve quality/delivery through continuous integration. You will manage our Puppet implementation for centralized, automated software configuration and deployment. You will collaborate with the operations team to deploy/optimize releases to Production and other colocation environments. You will be the caretaker of our beloved Henrietta, a screeching, free-range rubber chicken who is bestowed upon the individual who breaks the build or introduces a bug in Production!

Qualifications:
Skills & Experience You?ll Need To Succeed:
3 - 5 years of build/release experience
Experience with Hudson/Jenkins and Maven
Experience developing and deploying continuous integration builds
Experience with managing multiple configuration files in multiple deployment environments
Experience with managing multiple releases in multiple deployment environments
Experience with deploying web/enterprise applications to a Production environment
Experience with Linux and bash scripting
Experience with Perforce, svn, git or other leading source control systems
Puppet experience would be a plus
Creative problem solver
A strong desire to work in a collaborate environment
