Business Analyst Vertafore, Inc.
As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for applying business and systems knowledge, coupled with excellent communication skills to gather and create business and functional requirements. Your expertise will identify, evaluate, document and develop solutions that will solve complex business problems and initiatives.
This role will be required to:
Respond to customer requests for customized solutions
Elicit and document requirements
Work closely with development to review requirements and identify scope of work
Review functional requirements with Operations Team to build Statements of Work
Consult with users and developers to determine business, functional and technical requirements for specified applications
Develop effective reporting tools for the business unit
Define, develop and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans and other QA assessments

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate should exhibit the following skills and abilities:
Business Requirements Definition - Demonstrated knowledge of business requirements definition in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Able to analyze business requirements to determine processing flow, testing scenarios and user requirements
Business Knowledge - Fundamental knowledge of the insurance industry
Business Analysis - Ability to grasp and apply basic analysis concepts and break-down a problem to achieve conclusions
Change Management - Working knowledge of technical tools to analyze changes, and skills to communicate with internal and external work partners
Facilitation - Able to facilitate meetings and processes through either prior training or direct experiences
A proven track record with:
o Implementing solutions to identified problems via code
o Working with data (Intermediate SQL skills preferred. Should be comfortable querying data)
o Ability to evolve and adapt to a wide range of problems
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Excellent customer service skills
o Experience using analysis and reporting tools and database systems (Crystal Reports is a plus)
o Advanced MS Excel experience using pivot tables and macros
o Experience in mapping complex business processes
