Business Analyst MedVentive
Job Summary
The Business Analyst is an integral team member and leader, knowledgeable in the business, who employs best practices to facilitate the elicitation, organization and documentation of business requirements. Ensures that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's real needs; while minimizing requirement defects up front for projects that are complex and not always clearly defined.
The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing and ensuring that enhancements to MedVentive applications are clinically and analytically accurate and logical; with actionable information that meets the needs of MedVentive clients as well as the business needs. Must have a working knowledge of related standards, codes, products and industry requirements, e.g. HEDIS. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
Solicit, analyze and negotiate customer requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's real needs
Minimize requirement defects up front, establishing and maintaining agreements between the customer and project team
Manage multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships
Translate complex source information such as HEDIS, P4P, and other technical and clinical specifications into precise rules requirements
Perform data analysis to validate requirements of the analytic components of the software
Work with MedVentive senior management, product managers, data analysts and developers to document the design of reports and functions that incorporate rule-based results and measures
Recommend functional improvements or corrections to MedVentive programmers and data managers

Qualifications
BS degree with 5-7 years experience in a healthcare IT environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience working with other technical team members to define customers? needs/requirements
Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships in a team environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage issues
Experience with grouper methodologies, quality rules, risk management and working with large data sets or data warehouses
In-depth knowledge of health care data and standard codes sets
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
Ability to utilize SQL and/or other database query tools for analytical and testing purposes
Familiarity with Web-based applications
