The Role:
An experienced and innovative Business Analyst to monitor, analyze and report on the adoption & use of key product features & marketing campaigns which drive Manta?s rapid growth among small business owners (currently with millions of members and thousands more joining each day). This role interfaces closely with Manta?s product managers, product marketing managers, designers, and creative engineers to define analytics requirements and ensure proper tracking of overall product adoption & usage as well as specific marketing campaigns & initiatives.
What you?ll be doing:
Measure, analyze, understand & provide analytical insight on the adoption & use of Manta products. Communicate this information to product managers, product marketing managers, user experience experts and others? all to guide excellent, data-based decision making.
Analyze and report upon marketing campaigns driving customer acquisition, engagement, upsell and retention.
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of new product features & marketing campaigns based upon key performance indicators (KPIs), including engagement metrics, sales generated, new members registrations, click and conversion rates, and site traffic.
Design, develop, and manage different analytical models for use with various product & marketing goals and objectives. Identify trends through analysis through individual and holistic views of customer and user behavior. Determine opportunities for better campaign targeting.
Work with business and IT resources regarding database issues and technical questions.
Develop reports ? both automated and ad-hoc ? summarizing key performance metrics & trends.
Work with Product, Marketing, Design and Analytics teams to understand the methodology and scope of performance metrics, address specific questions or concerns, and prepare and present results.
What you need know (Your Must-Haves!):
Bachelor?s degree in Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience in marketing analytics.
5+ years of business/marketing analytics experience with a track record of analyzing online user behavior, email and interactive campaigns for effectiveness and optimization. Strong quantitative skills, with a specific experience in forecasting & measuring business impact and online user behavior.
Expert user of MS Office Excel application and site traffic tools such as CoreMetrics or Omniture. Strong computer skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint also required. Must be adept at learning new computer software/applications.
Experience analyzing very large, complex, multi-dimensional on-line marketing data. Experience with Cognos, SAP, Microstrategy or other business warehouse reporting tools a big plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly communicative, strong social orientation skills; a well ?honed ability to work with and through others.
Ability to multi-task; must be a self-starter, work with minimal supervision and manage workload effectively, with competitive demands for resources and time.
Keen business judgment with ability to think big picture and understand the key trends and levers that drive the business
A passion for problem-solving, results oriented self-starter, strong work ethic, thorough and focused.
Nice- to-Have, but we won?t ?ding? you if you don?t:
SQL skills
Experience working with Big Data in Hadoop and using MapReduce
Experience with Pig, Hive, HBase or other similar tools
Prior database experience
