Job Title and Description: Business Analyst- MES

The MES Engineer is a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team. He/She will work as a member of a team tasked to implement Tesla's first Manufacturing Execution System. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement state-of-the-art MES in the fast pace company. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and interested in learning about manufacturing processes, software and support. They will have a history of success and come from a strong technical education. The MES Engineer will leverage his/her education and problem solving skills during our initial implementation and rollout of MES to multiple production lines. He/She takes pride in his/her hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail. Essential Functions and Duties:

• Project managing complex information technology projects including work plan estimation and execution, planning, project scope, issues, risk, change and quality management.
• Working with Materials management to develop process flow for MES
• Manufacturing process flow development for MES (preferably automotive or computers/electronics manufacturing background) for numerous manufacturing systems to support evolving business needs and company goals.
• Working with Quality management to develop process flow for MES for a real time notification of quality issues to facilitate a quick response
• Setting and develop project timeline and test cases for implementation and documentation of technical and functional requirements, work plan development, developing processes, etc.

Skills and Experience:

• BS or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Software support experience
• Experience in Enterprise systems
• Production sequencing and labor management configuration experience
• Enthusiasm for creating robust manufacturing processes and resulting MES workflows
• Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and supply chain principles
• Strong analytic problem solving skills
• Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
• Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success
• Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, coping with rapidly changing information
• Work efficiently and productively in independent and team settings
• Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Agile project is plus
