The Business Analyst (BA) reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for defining and prioritizing the business needs of Streamline Health?s Business Analytics solution line (OpportunityAnyWare). The Business Analyst is also responsible for collaborating with team members, Quality Assurance (QA), and the Solution Manager (Product Manager) to develop the project specifications. Additionally the BA will gather requirements, create design and technical specifications and document business processes. The Business Analyst serves as a source of knowledge for other departments and is the subject matter expert in the Solution(s) they support.
Collaborate with the Solution Manager, business stakeholders, developers and Quality Assurance engineers to understand the Solution Vision and Roadmap and transfer that into the solution backlog.
Define detailed user stories with relevant acceptance criteria in collaboration with Solution Manager and project team.
Work closely with the Solution Manager to create and manage the solution backlog of clearly defined and prioritized user stories
Facilitate user story sizing sessions with the Scrum Master and project team.
Create Functional Design Specifications to support business process requirements.
Support the project team in developing test cases and test scripts (automated and manual), based on acceptance criteria.
Validate and approve completed user stories prior to a production release
Work closely with the project team to support the Agile Development Process and solution Lifecycle Management (SLM).
5+ years of business analyst experience.
3+ years of Healthcare IT industry experience.
Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
Relevant industry experience in Business Intelligence/Analytics software is a plus.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Ability to create user stories, process flows and wireframes in order to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements.
Excellent at conducting requirement gathering sessions and then concisely documenting their outcome.
Proven experience of managing and prioritizing a backlog of user stories.
Attention to detail, with a focus on delivering quality output.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to speak knowledgeably with members of both the business and development teams.
Outstanding analytical skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings.
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, relationship and presentation skills.
Solid understanding of web development environments, sufficient to understand the implications of issues within web-based applications.
Entrepreneurial spirit; desire to take ownership, be creative with problem solving, and pro-actively secure the objectives of the business.
Must be able to travel up to 10%, depending on the needs of the business.
Experience with Team Foundation Server a plus.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Word and Office.
Must live in Atlanta, GA; this is an office based position.
Ability to travel in and out of cars and planes, and carry your luggage and laptop during travel to client locations across the US and Canada.
