Business Analyst - R&D Finance Durata Therapeutics, Inc.
The Business Analyst ? R&D Finance is responsible for supporting the R&D team. This includes providing financial planning and analysis, management reporting, project tracking and decision support, as well as leading these teams through budgets and long range plans.
Tracking and analyzing all Research and Regulatory expenses against contracted amounts, if applicable.
Reviewing project plans and budgets prior to contracting and tracking against these budgets once contracts have been signed. Reporting and resolving discrepancies with the business in a timely manner.
Preparation of monthly variance analysis and related commentary; presentation of these results to senior leadership.
Preparation of information for monthly financial closing (i.e. accrual entries, reclassification entries etc.).
Assisting in the preparation of monthly forecasting process.
Act as liaison between various departments and Finance to communicate and resolve key financial issues.
Assist in preparation of the annual budget, including the consolidation and analysis of the budget for the entire Durata organization and the preparation and issuance of budget books for the management team.
Ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
Successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance required
7-10 years finance experience
Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical experience in R&D finance function including the analysis and tracking of R&D expenses
Familiarity with negotiating grants and contracts directly with investigators
Strong analytical skills
High attention to detail
Highly organized professional with the ability to multi-task effectively
Outstanding communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
