The Business Analyst will help drive analysis and research for the Business Unit team, contribute heavily to overall pricing strategy development at Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper Divas, and own ad hoc business analytics projects created for senior management. The Business Unit team is responsible for establishing and managing the top line across Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper Divas, as well as managing the day-to-day site operations.
The Business Analyst is expected to analyze and provide direction on items that are critical to the continued growth and success of Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper Divas. The role will be an integral part of managing the day to day business as well as developing longer term strategic initiatives and directives. This role is highly cross-functional in nature and as such the candidate must thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to foster strong internal and external business relationships. This is a unique role for someone looking to leverage their finance, analytics &/or research background to gain experience in the consumer internet industry with a long-term career goal to either develop functional expertise in business analytics or transition into a business operations/general management role.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Pricing Analysis. Collaborate with business leads to perform pricing analysis and develop testing approach to determine optimal pricing strategy by category/format taking into consideration conversion and margin implications as well as promotions strategy. Work with business unit team, marketing and finance to identify opportunities, risks and corrective action to help achieve revenue and profitability targets for each business vertical. Manage ongoing pricing updates and become the functional expert of pricing platform. Provide Product Manager with feedback on system enhancements to improve efficiency and feature requests to drive upside.
Ad Hoc Business Analytics. Provide ongoing and ad hoc analytical support, write SQL queries and create reports using arrays, vlookups, charts and graphs. Ad hoc business analytics include, but not limited to, analysis of external opportunities, new business strategy development, and solving internal operational challenges.
Performance Reporting. Develop and produce weekly/monthly/quarterly performance metrics reports presented to senior management to identify and answer key business questions. Attend weekly revenue meetings with cross-functional team leads. Work with individual managers to define/refine reporting needs, metrics, data sources, and analytics.
Market and Customer Research and Analysis. Perform various competitive/market/customer intelligence analyses, and identify & assess emerging analytics and research trends and solutions. Effectively communicate findings into actionable recommendations. Maintain central repository for customer feedback/survey results and competitive best practices across multiple dimensions (i.e. pricing, promotions, site content, etc.). Develop customer profiles by website to allow us to better understand our customers and their needs.
Web Analytics & Testing. Develop solid web analytics discipline and support business units with website analytics needs to formulate strategic insights and provide input to assist in business strategy and product recommendations.
Become the internal champion of analytics, research and reporting. Effectively communicate research and reporting strategies, tactics and findings to cross-functional business unit stakeholders throughout the research process. Help develop a more disciplined testing and analytics methodology throughout organization.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business, Economics, or Engineering preferred.
0-3 years of professional experience. Experience in investment banking, finance, database analytics, or business analytics is preferred but not required.
Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills including statistical analysis.
Proficiency in SQL and Excel.
Able to take a large amount of data and make it presentable with key salient points and understandable across the entire organization.
Experience analyzing web data for a medium to large e-commerce website preferred.
Experience in developing and maintaining periodic reports and dashboards.
Results and deadline drive ? must be willing to do whatever it takes and spend whatever time it takes to meet deadlines.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the needs of the situation. Able to manage workload and work independently and effectively with little supervision.
Experience conducting online research, ideally for Web based product development and marketing efforts.
Ability to work cross-functionally. Must be extremely well organized, analytical and capable of handling multiple ad hoc requests for information simultaneously. Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams (senior and junior level positions).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills.
High attention to detail.
