Business Analyst / Technical Writer Liaison Technologies

The Business Analyst/Technical Writer will assume duplicate roles on many projects. Under the direction of the Liaison Project Manager, the qualified candidate will be responsible for defining and documenting requirements, processes and key artifacts within the Life Cycle of a project, as well as writing and editing technical documentation for Liaison projects and, as such, must possess excellent research, writing and editing skills.

This is a Contract-to-Permanent position
Responsibilities
Develop, design and maintain all project related documentation/artifacts, including installation, configuration, IQ/OQ, and how-to documentation, as well as project artifacts and written deliverables
Confer with project and client resources to establish technical specifications, functional requirements and to determine other subject matter to be published
Assist project team members in the editing, formatting and timely completion of project related documentation
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Lead unit, integration, and user acceptance testing programs on behalf of Liaison. Work with client technical resources throughout to ensure product acceptance
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Work closely with Liaison Project Manager to define, compile and create all applicable project artifacts and insure quality, completeness and timely delivery
Requirements
3+ years experience in designing, building, implementing, and documenting enterprise integration solutions
5+ years technical writing
Ability to proactively interview SMEs to derive and extrapolate complex technical requirements with little supervision
Conceptual understanding of data integration, data mapping, SOI and cloud-based service concepts
Expert in building and maintaining document repositories in SharePoint, Wikis, or other knowledge management systems
Relational database experience (Oracle, DB2/UDB, or SQL Server) with basic SQL skills.
Ability to operate in a UNIX environment
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Process diagramming foundation and related methodologies and technologies, including UML, Rational Rose, etc.
Knowledge of EDI Formats (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS), XML, XPath, XSLT, XML schemas, flat files, CSV, and IDoc XMLs is a strong plus
Middleware (webMethods/TIBCO) or ERP (SAP) experience is desirable
Education
4-year degree in related competency or equivalent relevant experience
