JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
Due to continued growth we are seeking a Business Analyst - WMS for our Memphis based operations.
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Manages the customer process for the information systems component of New Breeds business. Supports the business development process, performs project / change management, business analysis, requirements definition, testing, day to day support and fosters and maintains ongoing client relationship management.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development
Participates in New Breeds business development process to analyze client requirements, determine fit and customizations, develop proposals, develop cost estimates, and present New Breeds capabilities and solutions to client prospects
Participates in overall contract / SOW review
Determines new business opportunities with existing clients and develop proposals for additional services
Define business problems and their system solutions including analysis of alternatives and ROI
Change / Project Management
Serves as project manager for system implementations / upgrades and continued support
Plans schedules, manages budgets, interfaces with users, develops documented implementation plans, performs implementation, configures systems, trains users, and provides post-implementation support
Resolves scheduling issues between supporting entities (e.g., operations, other IT teams, suppliers, clients)
Client Relationship Management
Provides customer support management for internal users and external clients according to TSGs (Technology Service Group) customer management process (e.g., action item list, progress report, etc.)
Ensures that a client issues are addressed in a timely manner
Analysis
Develops detailed functional specifications for modifications, defect corrections, enhancements, and user documentation
Performs process and data modeling
Quality Assurance
Performs integrated quality assurance testing on system changes before they are released to key users
Works with end users to perform user acceptance testing on system changes before they are released to the field
Ongoing Support
Provides training to power users in system use
Provides site-support to distribution centers and operations center in system configuration
Provide "level 2" support to resolve data-related problems with logistics information systems
Performs all functions in accordance with New Breeds business and IT practices and procedures
Mentors junior staff members
Performs functions of Sr. Systems Analyst as needed
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years experience minimum, with systems development and implementation
Experience with formal project management practices
Expertise and experience in at least one of the following business disciplines: supply chain management, warehousing, transportation, or distribution
Knowledge of formal systems development methodologies
Thorough understanding of current information systems technologies such as client/server, relational databases, web-based systems, and object oriented design
Excellent planning, client support, communication and organization skills
Proven ability to multi-task
BS/BA degree required. Masters degree preferred.
Preferred
Implementation and support experience with web-based applications, EXceed. 4000, order management applications, LPS 2000, ConnectShip, ChainLink., i2s transportation suite, and Logility Voyager
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate by telephone, e-mail, fax, and written correspondence, and in person, with applicable company personnel, suppliers and customers
Ability to travel (estimated 50%) depending on project status
Ability to work extended hours to achieve business / project objectives
Ability to respond to "on call" issues outside of scheduled work hours
Motor skills to traverse office areas, shop floors, and warehouses
Ability to bend, stoop, and twist as needed
Ability to operate a computer for long periods of time
