DTS is looking for a strategic, highly skilled and motivated self-starter, with experience in the Consumer Electronics Industry, to manage and negotiate business contracts, particularly intellectual property licensing agreements. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an open and friendly environment in a fast growing, multinational business with a global customer base. This position will be based in Calabasas, California.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
?Proactively engage with peer Business Contract Managers and teams in Business Support, Business & Legal Affairs, Sales/Business Development and Products & Platforms to successfully negotiate assigned business contracts, with an emphasis on intellectual property licensing agreements.
?Efficiently draft, review, analyze, redline and close DTS and third party technology license agreements.
?Partner with Business & Legal Affairs to escalate and negotiate contracts to an effective outcome.
?Update contract requests in SalesForce in a timely manner, providing sufficient notes for internal reference.
?Provide accurate status updates and progress reports to peer Business Contract Managers as required.
Required Education and Experience
?Bachelor's degree in Business, Law or a related field is required in addition to 5+ years experience in a related capacity in the consumer electronics industry.
?Client facing experience in a multinational consumer electronics company with a demonstrable record of achievement with notable clients is strongly preferred.
Other Skills & Abilities:
?Strong intellectual property licensing and customer management experience in the consumer electronics industry.
?Deep understanding of Intellectual Property licensing and contract negotiation directly with customers with a particular focus on patent licensing in consumer electronics.
?Proven track record of success in closing outbound consumer electronics intellectual property license agreements, again with a focus on patent licensing.
?Ability to apply a passion for and understanding of technology - preferably audio technology - to the licensing process.
?Ability to identify, establish and maintain strategic & tactical partnerships with key stakeholders.
?Must be a collaborative leader, manager and innovator with strong influencing skills.
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
?Excellent negotiation skills.
?Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Foreign language fluency a plus, particularly Korean, Japanese or Mandarin.
?General understanding of US Common Law, Contract Law and Intellectual Property Law.
?Strong computer skills including in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
