Description:The Business Development Analyst is responsible for providing data, reporting and analysis to drive the performance of new utility products and channels. They are part of the business development account team that has P&L responsibility for new ventures. In addition to ensuring profitability, the analyst will evaluate consumer demand, operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and partner satisfaction. As this position supports new business development, they are responsible for modeling and measuring a continuous development process of A/B testing. In addition, they will provide data and analysis for business cases as investment in capabilities, resources or marketing are required to grow revenue streams and profitability. This individual needs to be highly quantitative with a deep understanding of finance and sales operations. The successful candidate will have natural problem solving skills, a strong intellectual curiosity and ability to work autonomously across various areas of the business. This position requires face to face client engagement and will require travel.
Analyze product performance within sales channels, which include utility partners and ecommerce/ web solutions
Work with external suppliers on improved analytics and reporting to deepen relationships, strengthen sales and drive revenue
Extend current analytical techniques and capabilities working with the finance and data teams
Generate custom reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and an as needed basis for specific partner programs.
Integrate with the Utility Sales and Marketing teams to support key merchandising, product development and sales decisions
Innovate and problem solve effectively by gathering and analyzing information and applying it to develop effective solutions
Provide standard daily, weekly and monthly reports on key operational metrics to various constituents throughout the organization
Perform detailed operational analysis to identify opportunities to improve operations, increase revenues and understand critical dynamics, affecting the company?s operational and financial success
Provide measurement for A/B testing and development
Develop and or improve reporting processes to increase reporting accuracy and efficiency
Ad hoc business and financial analysis
Financial and operational forecasting Required Competencies: Technical Skills ? Strong quantitative, statistical and analytical background; Experience in operational reporting and analysis; Strong spreadsheet and database skills. Process Improvement ? Develop new processes, and identify and implement improvements in existing processes of collecting, storing, managing, processing and delivering operational data. A bachelor?s degree in management science, statistics, mathematics or other quantitative discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience in quantitative and statistical analysis ? call center or services operations experience is a plus.
Experience in operational reporting and analysis.
Strong spreadsheet and database skills.
Accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability and desire to interact directly with all areas of the business.
Ability to thrive in a growing and evolving business environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience working with senior management.
Ability to work independently on multiple projects/tasks with stringent schedules. Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Business Objects, Oracle, SQL etc.
