Business Development Director

As a member of the Demand Media Marketplaces sales team you will prospect, pitch, and sign up publishers in to the Demand Media Content Network. You will work in an entrepreneurial and highly motivated team to deliver impact to our customers. This position is located in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for acquisition and revenue targets in a specified territory
- Identify prospects and establish contact and a relationship
- Evangelize the Demand story and what we can do for publishers
- Assess their situation and develop a proposal for their traffic and monetization needs
- Negotiate contracts, working with the customer and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with the account management (AM) and technical account management (TAM) team to design and implement the solution for publishers
- Work with the media sales team in joint pitches
- Based on your interactions in the market give feedback to our Product and Engineering teams to improve our offering
Requirements:
- 5 - 7 years plus in online media and 3 years minimum in sales/business development with online publishers
- A proven track record of success exceeding sales goals.
- Familiarity with SEM, ad networks
- Experience in negotiating and closing contracts
- MS Powerpoint skills are a requirement.
- Very strong verbal and written communication capabilities with all levels within an organization.
- B.A or B.S degree from a leading university
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and have a positive attitude
