We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager at our Austin, TX headquarters.
The Business Development Manager reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is the focal point of the company?s B2B lead generation initiatives. Part marketing and part sales, this senior role calls on an experienced candidate to research, prioritize and manage a list of key acquisition targets, administer pre-qualification for all inbound leads, and drive out-bounding campaigns at the executive level.Success in this role requires not only expert data and analysis skills but also strong communication skills and understanding of the B2B sales cycle from lead generation to sales conversion.
Coordinate with marketing program managers to develop outbound campaigns that align to company TAM.
Manage and update acquisition target lists. Drive market research and develop buyer profiles on key customer targets at the executive level (VP Marketing, CMO)
Develop call scripts and follow up tactics for outbound opportunity generation. Qualify inbound leads according to pre-set firmographic and BANT criteria.
Collaborate with field sales organization by researching new contacts, developing outreach strategies and providing communications support (email, presentations).
Lead company engagements at target industry trade shows. Arrange meetings, customer events and ?walk-the-floor? as required to identify new opportunities.
Identify, develop and maintain new partnerships that will support company acquisition funnel.
Manage lead flow thru Salesforce.com and lead weekly interlock sessions with sales with pipeline reporting and analysis.
Engage in social selling thru LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
7+ years of experience in B2B pre-sales/inside sales in software, marketing technology or consulting services. Keen understanding of relationship sales motions. Business Development experience a plus.
5+ years of experience in a relationship marketing organizations in one or more of the following functions: marketing operations, demand center, field marketing, business intelligence, corporate strategy.
Advanced experience with Salesforce.com and marketing automation platforms. Fluid with top relationship marketing social platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter.
Experience with market research including company-based research, prospect profiling, utilizing 3rd party databases (eg: Hoover?s) and leading 3rd party research projects.
Expert skills in Microsoft Office with the ability to use advance features such as pivot tables and database management.
Strong written and oral communication skills with experience communicating effectively with all levels of management and partners.
Self-starter with out-of-the box problem solving skills who can provide thought leadership and drive results.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence business partners.
Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and keep numerous tasks on track.
Bachelor?s degree and MBA (or equivalent) required.
