Reporting to the CEO, the Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying
digital content with the potential to generate substantial sales to our clients, developing
partnerships and securing the requisite distribution rights, and helping to develop
marketing and pricing strategy to ensure newly licensed material achieves revenue
objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an exceptionally talentedhands-on
business development professional with a passion for digital content and the
wherewithal to consistently deliver results. The position is located in our Wilton, CT
headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities
? Research the marketplace through extensive face-to-face interaction with clients and
other industry thought leaders to identify opportunities to distribute new collections of
high-demand digital content to clients
? Develop sales projections to support licensing recommendations and set revenue
objectives for newly licensed material
? Ensure revenue objectives are met by building partnerships with publishers and
other rights holders to secure distribution rights to a wide variety of highly attractive
content
? Collaborate with publishers and other rights holders to craft promotions,
sponsorships and other strategies to help educate clients on newly available
material, create buzz and drive adoption
? Work with internal marketing, sales and product teams to package, price and market
newly licensed content to ensure successful uptake by clients
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
? Minimum of 3-5 years successful business development experience in the electronic
information services space
? Goal driven, with the intellectual wherewithal, personal drive and initiative to
overcome obstacles and consistently exceed objectives ? High energy and highly motivated, with ability to work in an extremely fast-paced and
intellectually challenging environment
? Creative, independent thinker, with a strong preference for setting your own direction
? Ability and desire to develop innovative, win-win partnerships
? Substantial experience licensing digital content
? Highly professional demeanor, with excellent communication skills
? Outstanding record of academic and professional achievement
