As a Business Development Manager, you will Responsible for developing new business as well as maintaining and driving sales at accounts to achieve efficient and profitable sales of the company?s products to targeted levels. Assist team to optimize existing accounts and prospects. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new accounts. Train and assist Business Development Representatives to grow and develop within the organization. Interface with other departments as needed to drive business within accounts and resolve any issues that may arise. May provide direction / assignments to Sales Support Representatives, Senior Sales Support Representatives, and Sales Support Managers to help develop sales business.
How you?ll do it
Demonstrate an ability to build and/or establish relationships with new accounts and within major accounts including product managers, buyers, planners, etc
Assist National Account Managers, and Sales Directors with inside or outside sales calls, website and catalog analysis, or store visits.
Provide customer recaps for all meetings and take a leadership role to ensure all action items are executed upon including delegation of assignments to channel support representatives
Analyze and understand industry market trends, competition, products, and pricing that may impact sales efforts and communicate this information to all sales management and other departments as necessary.
What you?ll need
3 - 5 years experience in managing and selling to retail accounts
1-3 years experience in a sales and/or management capacity or equivalent position. Depending on channel, previously industry experience may be required
Have a good understanding of merchandising and merchandising techniques
What you?ve done
Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills required
Exceptional phone skills and etiquette required, as the majority of business is done over the phone.
Willingness and ability to travel 50% international and/ or domestic
Depending on channel, bilingual skills may be required
