Business Development Manager GT Nexus
Position Summary
GT Nexus is looking for a high performance Business Development Manager (BDM.)
This position is responsible for supporting the Sales team through proactive lead and opportunity generation. This includes nurturing and qualification of inbound and outbound leads via the phone, web, email, corporate events and direct mail campaigns. In this role you will be expected to develop leads into qualified sales opportunities, execute sales & marketing campaigns and effectively manage an opportunity pipeline for your assigned target accounts.
Execute marketing campaigns and lead-generation programs.
Qualify inbound and outbound leads.
Participate in the sales cycle by building relationships with key decision makers at targeted accounts. Identify their project needs, budget, timelines, business issues and obstacles.
Proactively understand each customer?s technology footprint, current challenges, strategic growth plans, technology strategy and competitive landscape.
Research public information (e.g. new executive appointments, earnings statements, press releases) for the company and its competitors to remain updated on key industry trends and issues impacting the prospect.
Build relationships with key contacts at target accounts, learn their top challenges and priorities and nurture them into a qualified opportunity over time by providing relevant information and consistent follow up.
Overcome objections and effectively communicate GT Nexus value propositions to key decision makers regarding appropriate product offerings.
Provides support and coordination for GT Nexus and industry events.
Achieve quarterly opportunity generation goals set by sales management.
Actively collaborate with sales teams for account targeting and pursuit strategy.
Comfortable with cold calling and following up.
Self motivated, able to handle projects with minimal direction.
Skilled & comfortable at reaching decision makers and sourcing new business leads.
Track all relevant activity in Sales Force Automation system (including call activity, lead qualification details, lead pipeline, opportunity pipeline, etc.).
Communicate effectively with Marketing & Sales management in-person, via phone, e-mail and regular updates in Sales Force Automation system.
Job Requirements
Minimum 4 years inside sales/telemarketing w/ experience in the enterprise software industry ($500k + average deal size/ 6-12 month sales cycle).
Personable, outgoing, helpful, able to initiate conversation and communications in an engaging manner.
Proven track record of exceptional lead generation results.
Experience working in a team sales environment.
Experience selling to the senior executive level.
Knowledge of Sales Force Automation software required; experience with Salesforce.com a plus.
Supply Chain and Logistics experience is preferred.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Minimal travel required.
University and/or business school degree.
Position Location
Flexible. Home office based (90%). Travel to Oakland HQ and industry events would be required from time to time.

Compensation
Base salary, bonus paid for qualified sales opportunities, and sales commissions that are directly tied to transactions initiated by the BDM.
