Job Description
This position will report to and works under the supervision of the Vice President of Emerging Business & Business Development to support ViewSonic's new product lines involved with our Carrier Programs. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for a variety of new product business development, product marketing and sales activities to achieve the financial goals and objectives of the companys tablet products for carrier customers. Duties will include:
Responsible for the overall financial success of the business plan and annual budget for tablet sales to carrier customers
Manages, supports, and coordinates all business development activities associated with carrier partners in North America and Latin America
Recommends and executes product strategies and tactics for sales and business growth
Participates in the preparation of the new program and business strategies
Coordinates the development and evaluation of new business opportunities through the identification of new carrier partnerships, channels, and strategic business relationships
Develops and implements all programs associated with market strategy, commercialization, sales and promotion of products
Responsible for the daily review and recommendation for change or success of each assign product based on available market analysis.
Develop and implement the strategies and tactics to ensure the product line success in its targeted market
Recommend new product opportunities through market analysis and Voice of Customer research
Keeps abreast of industry trends, competitive moves, and technology for the purpose of enhancing overall market knowledge
Drives the development of market launch strategies, product positioning statements, functional specifications, ad copy, WEB information, sales training information, and insure they are disseminated to the appropriate parties
Fully responsible to develop and be able to present the business strategy for assigned products
Is responsible to travel with assigned products to a multitude of publications and mass media editorial product opportunities. Is responsible to build an on-going business relationship with the most influential editors within the product area and business marketplace
Recommend pricing and program strategies for all current and new products to ensure their competitiveness in the market. Concurrently, monitor the products gross margins and insure the product is meeting the companys financial and or strategic expectations as well as inventory levels.
Responsible for the daily review and recommendation for change or success of each assign product based on the analysis from the Market Forecast Analyst.
Required Skills
Prefer bachelor's degree in business, marketing or engineering or equivelent business experience in sales and marketing. Demonstrated skills and experience in product marketing and business development along with demonstrated experience working with telcom carriers in business development.
Required Experience
Must have hands on experience in product launches with Carrier companies such as AT&T, Verizon, Cricket, etc. Must possess a proven capacity for advanced level of impact and influence, strategic thinking, drive, execution, and innovation. Individual must have a demonstrated ability to be a constant force for innovation and improvement; a high energy level and strong action orientation. Excellent oral and written skills, with an advanced capacity for effectively developing and presenting critical information to management. Proven ability to manage the market forecast, pricing and managing inventory levels.
Must possess the necessary sales skills to manage the overall sales efforts to carrier customers, and the financial expertise to execute an annual business plan.
