Avalaras Business Development team is looking for a Business Development Relationship Manager, Accounting Channel to be dedicated to a newly created program designed to increase attentiveness towards relationships with the accounting industry. This is an entry level position, Junior Associate level, and product training will be provided by Avalara. The successful candidate will collaborate both with team members and members of other relevant departments at Avalara (inside and outside sales and marketing in particular) to find, qualify and nurture accounting partner leads resulting in new partner relationships. This role requires a self-starter who is naturally tenacious and would like to work hard with a fun and interesting team of people to accelerate the teams already-healthy growth rate. Ingenuity, an ability to see the potential in everything, practice at hustling and using outside-the-box intelligence to make a difference will also be very useful.
Execute out-bound call campaigns to prospective partners
Follow-up on in-bound calls or email inquiries from partners interested in learning more
Proactively find new partnership opportunities and get prospective partners interested in
Bring compelling partners to the attention of senior members of business development
Articulate in a compelling manner the value of products and services as it relates to accounting firms and their clients
Work well cross functionally with other teams to ensure maximum revenue potential
Project a professional image in all communications
Develop subject matter expertise on products and industry best practices to provide actionable recommendations to partners during contract negotiation and product integration.
Experience and Skills:
Tenacious, enthusiastic, keen to make a difference and intent on exceeding monthly call goals, lead qualification goals or quotas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Executive presence on the phone and in person
Obsessive attention to detail; you are the kind of person that sweats the small stuff
Bachelors degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent career experience
Experience cold calling, selling, or interacting with prospects
Familiar with SaaS company metrics
Familiarity with the accounting industry, processes, transactional tax and/or working with accounting professionals
Familiarity with invoicing related software (for example: ERP or ecommerce)
Familiarity with marketing processes
Aptitude for process automation
