What you?ll do
As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for developing new business as well as maintaining and driving sales at accounts to achieve efficient and profitable sales of the company?s products to targeted levels. Assists team to optimize existing accounts and prospects. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new accounts. Interface with other departments as needed to drive business within accounts and resolve any issues that may arise. May provide direction / assignments to Sales Support Representatives, Senior Sales Support Representatives, and Sales Support Managers to help develop sales business.
How you?ll do it
Demonstrate an ability to build and/or establish strong relationships with new accounts and within major existing accounts including product managers, buyers, planners, etc.
Meet or exceed sales and profit goals established by upper management.
Develop and Execute upon business plans with Business Development Manager, NAM or Sales Director to meet those goals.
Strive to increase net sales by reducing Returns and Allowances.
Assist Business Development Managers, National Account Managers, and Sales Directors with inside or outside sales calls, website and catalog analysis or store visits.
Assist customers with all account related questions, issues, or concerns. Provide accurate, timely information to the customers regarding inquiries such as products, pricing, and quotes.
Execute upon direction from BDM / NAM / Director with respect to RMAs, returns & allowances (R&A), quotes, promotions, sell through, inventory management, turns, forecasts, and any other account activities that will impact financial results for the account(s), and report findings to Business Development Manager / NAM / Director.
Complete the minimum number of outbound calls or other sales initiatives to accounts and/or end users each day as directed by the Business Development Manager / NAM / Sales Director.
What you?ll need
High school diploma or equivalent.
One to three years? experience in a sales capacity or equivalent position. Experience selling into major commercial accounts is a plus.
Proven track record of sales growth and/or prospecting.
Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy is required.
Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills required.
Excellent phone skills and etiquette required, as the majority of business is done over the phone.
Willingness and ability to travel 50% international and/ or domestic.
Depending on channel, bilingual skills may be required
What you?ve done
Follow the sales team?s procedures for managing and maintaining opportunity pipeline, quotes, bids, etc. and be prepared to present that information when requested.
Keep a monthly recap of sales calls, including potential opportunity worth in dollars, and be prepared to present that information when requested.
Analyze and understand industry market trends, competition, products, and pricing that may impact sales efforts and communicate this information to all sales management and other departments as necessary.
Assist in optimizing profitability at each assigned account.
Conduct and/or coordinate sales and training meetings as required.
Review and analyze daily sales and compare actual v. projected / plan results and be prepared to present that information when requested.
