The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst position has multiple responsibilities. We are a small team and need flexible individuals that have a strategic viewpoint and are able to grow as we grow our BI and data warehouse. First and foremost you have to be passionate about working with data. Second you have to get a thrill from business people gaining insight from your reporting and analysis. Third, you need to be detail oriented. Responsibilities will include business analyst duties, data analyst duties, reporting and data visualization development, and quality assurance.Responsibilities:
Document requirements for data quality, accessibility, and availability.
Deliver key performance indicators for company.
Ability to read and understand dimensional and normalized data models
Prepare and deliver on data integrity audits and error validity behind reporting.
Capable of performing multiple regression, covariance, data volatility and fit statistics.
Responsible for the successful delivery of reports and dashboards required by the business.
Work closely with customers to identify and create automated and ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
Participate in architecture, design, code development, and review sessions for the DW.
Act as BI Liaison on projects to ensure needs are captured, this includes documenting business requirements for all work, time estimates and delivery.
Responsible for assessing and communication prioritized Schedule of analysis.
Work with the ETL owners to ensure the proper data is loaded into the Data Warehouse.
Primary owner of Hive/ Hadoop and MySQL query reporting
Validate needs with prototypes
Maintain strong and effective working relationships with Product Management, Engineering, and game designers as well as our business partners
Required Experience:
Experience using MySQL, hive / hadoop.
Experience working with a business team to define requirements for a BI/DW initiative.
3 years of experience working in a Data Warehousing environment
3 years of experience developing Business Intelligence solutions in an analytical environment
1 year of experience gathering Business Requirements for Data Warehouse
Preferred:
Masters Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Statistics, or Business Administration (MBA)
Prior experience designing and building data models
Prior experience working with statistics and statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, and/or R
Working knowledge of Data Management related to data governance, data definitions, and data modeling
Experience working in virtual, cross-functional teams, including defining requirements, developing designs and project plans, and delivering results
Ability to effectively communicate at different levels in and across the organization and to articulate to non-technical audiences the advantages and disadvantages of using various technologies and standards
Ability to work well with and influence multiple teams, including internal and external departments and organizations
