The BI/Reporting Architect will transform disparate reporting needs, source data and processes into a cohesive reporting vision and strategy, as well as, design, develop, and execute Enterprise Class BI/Reporting solutions. We are looking for a team player who can understand design concepts and work with business analysts and technologists to determine and implement the best solutions for complex data and databases. The BI/Reporting Architect must determine the best method to re-tool data by focusing on data efficacy, data quality, and data reporting in an overall effort to help build confidence in data housed in the Oracle Database. Requirement:
Applicants must possess an existing government clearance or willing/able to obtain government clearance.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive enterprise BI solutions for management & operational solutions for staff
Participate in the design/build of operational systems to ensure data resources are designed with BI/Reporting ?in mind? from inception
Act as a subject matter expert for BI tools (e.g. Cognos) and solutions
Define, architect, build and deploy reporting solutions and dashboards
Work with team to implement Data Quality initiatives to include data profiling
Build long-term solutions and understand how different technologies integrate to ensure strategic goals are met in an efficient and effective manner
Education Requirements
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical degree
Work Experience
Experience working and collaborating in a team environment with minimal supervision, and follow predetermined guidelines
Strong SQL skills required
Strong BI/Reporting industry knowledge and background, experience with various BI/Reporting tools
At least 7 years of reporting/BI development experience with at least 2 years of experience with Cognos
Experience including design and implementation of new Reporting/BI solutions, from Whiteboard to implementation to support
Skills
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend database methodologies
Excellent written and oral skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask
The ability to communicate in technical and non-technical terminology
