General Summary:
The System Analyst will work closely with the development team to capture system specification from the requirements captured by the business analyst. The system analyst will also create documentation to capture the technical implementation.
Essential Responsibilities:
Works closely with business analysts to evolve business needs into system specification documents that meet the needs of the business requirement
Assists with defining and documenting non-functional requirements to create consistency across enterprise systems.
Designs and implements new methods, procedures, and systems (both automated and manual) to improve the processing and flow of information within the company.
Provides detailed documentation of moderately complex system specifications for maintenance and upgrades, including system scripts, system installation procedures, system backup and recovery techniques and system test methods.
Captures technical test cases for integration with 3rd party interfaces.
Captures sequence diagram and topology diagrams to illustrate system flow.
Works with business analyst to analyze and revise existing functional documentation to align with system specification.
Defines system objectives and design specifications in collaboration with business analyst and/or project manager.
Prepares system documentation for operational use and supports operational tests.
Arrive at possible solution alternatives factoring in gap resolution, functional areas, acceptability of solution to user community, technical feasibility and efficiency
Develops system requirements and program specifications.
Analyze problems and provides troubleshooting during deployment, identify viable solutions, and determine best course of action
Customer orientation - Builds relationship with stakeholders.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision and be a self-starter
Requirements:
Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software
Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Office, Visio and MS Project.
Experience working with relational databases to facilitate systems analysis
Must have experience in design, development, testing and evaluation of computer based systems.
Must possess specific experience in the analysis and design of business applications on complex, large-scale mission critical systems, including experience in database management concepts.
Ability to quickly assimilate and understand the core functionality of information systems used within the company
Ability to execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to problems associated with the system of responsibility
Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
Knowledge of healthcare, EMRs, and HL7 a plus.
Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred or
equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
Two or more years of system analysis or systems development experience
Communication:
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with English as the primary language.
Complexity:
Must be dependable with ability to be flexible, function independently and works under pressure with
multiple tasks and deadlines. Must have strong organizational, time management skills, ability to problem
solve.
Preferences:
Knowledge of healthcare, EMRs, and HL7 a plus

Physical Demands:
Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time during the work day.
Mental/ Visual Demands:
Flow of work requires normal mental and visual demands.
Travel:
Travel is infrequent but possible from time to time. The position is on site out of our Baltimore location
