JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
This position is responsible for coordinating the purchasing activities associated with supply base performance. This individual will place purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, resolve problems with delivery of goods and/or services and interface with other functional areas as necessary to assure service level objectives.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that manufacturers meet service level requirements as defined in the Client Long Term Agreement (LTA) contracts
Place emergent demand purchase order requirements as needed with approved suppliers
Monitor supplier performance against defined KPI?s and manage the implementation of corrective actions to ensure service performance
Execute expedite or deferment action plans in order to maintain the appropriate supply chain balance
Act as the primary point of contact between suppliers of parts and services and New Breed Logistics
Work successfully in a schedule-driven environment
Physical Requirements:
Up to 50% travel required.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum 8 years experience as a commodity Buyer
CPSM or C.P.M. certification by ISM a plus
Previous Aerospace or Government purchasing experience preferred
Must have excellent skills with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
Ensure manufacturer compliance to order requirements - documentation, quality, damage, transportation, on-time delivery, adherence to min/max levels.
Manage the manufacturer continuous improvement program.
Manage the Non-Conforming Inventory (NCI) process.
Own the relationship between New Breed and the Manufacturer.
