Supply Chain performance has a significant impact on product cost and delivery time as well as departmental operating expenses. Selection of suitable suppliers and negotiation of proper contracts and purchase orders are critical to long-term business success.
Responsibilities:
This position works with vendors to identify cutting edge technologies and pilot delivery models to improve program performance. In addition the Buyer holds responsibility for maintaining high-level relationships and assuring that contractors and suppliers are informed of program needs, standards, changes and anticipated developments.
Manage supplier relations and agreements, including labor and pricing
To ensuring the effective management of raw material supply and uninterrupted production. Co-ordinate the delivery of material from suppliers to the Production plan and control and reduce inventory levels and identify new areas of inventory reduction.
Analyze production specifications and prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools and equipment. To insure delivery performance as needed.
Evaluate, negotiate with and monitor suppliers and develop alternate supply sources
Manage vendors with providing material requirement plans and/or forecasts.
Ensures the MRP database is maintained properly for supply chain-owned data fields
Ensures that MRP supply chain order actions are completed properly after each MRP run
Monitor status of ongoing major planned repairs, vendor returns.
Expedites material shipments required for altered schedules or unforeseen circumstances.
Monitor capability of suppliers to satisfy expectations of on-time delivery, quality, service, and price commitments
Maintain accurate lead times and due dates for purchased inventory and manufacturing orders.
Manage inventory to minimize cost yet maximize flow and delivery performance of finished goods
Implement ECN and/or reengineering efforts as it relates to supply chain planning and execution systems, cost reduction projects, performing market analyses, recommending short and long term sourcing strategies with defined risk/benefit analysis including insource/outsource decisions
Other duties as assigned to meet Department and organizational goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Business, Logistics and Purchasing Management and/or related subjects or equivalent experience
Minimum of three (3) years purchasing/sales, marketing and/or materials planning experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, experience with global supply chains strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently, problem solve and make sound decisions required.
ERP systems experience required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Computer literate, experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with GMP compliance and experience in FDA regulated environment preferred.
Oracle experience and fluent in Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
