Job Summary:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the procurement, planning, sourcing and manufacturing requirements at Aquion Energy. The organization is focused on developing supply chain strategies, driving globalization of sourced products, and reducing cost through various materials cost reduction strategies.
The position works closely with manufacturing and suppliers to analyze materials consumption and stocking levels in support of the production plan and inventory targets; determines appropriate inventory levels; maintains master data and determines time phasing of purchase orders; participates, and where appropriate, leads MRP system continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Construct and execute an MRP to optimize inventory levels, taking into account cost, storage, vendor, quality, usage rate, lead-time considerations, and cash flow optimization.
Monitor inventory levels, communicate variances and adjust accordingly.
Generate a ?buy? plan, which includes all materials required to support the production plan.
Maintain all master data within MRP and purchasing system.
When appropriate, use Excel to build and manage a 3 to4 level material resource plan.
Participate in gap analysis, development of business processes, training and documentation.
Ensure suppliers meet quality requirements and applicable regulatory requirements by initiating appropriate action when supplier quality or compliance deficiencies are identified.
Continuously improve the performance of the materials supply base by supporting the use of supplier management tools such as the supplier scorecard and commercial meetings.
Execute purchase orders to support the build plan.
Forecast supply vulnerabilities and implement plans to insure continuity of supply. Manage commercial relationships to ensure reliable supply and appropriate resolution of any disputes that arise related to supply.
Trend actual vs. forecasted sales bookings, requested deliveries, and committed deliveries
Key participant and super user during ERP implementation and thereafter.
Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Key Competencies required:
Experience working in a manufacturing plant with all functional areas and suppliers to ensure the on-time delivery of materials/services to end users with the lowest total cost of ownership.
Experience in negotiations, time management, conflict resolution, project management and organization.
Organizational agility, process management, planning accurately, knowledge of procurement contracts and related laws.
Solid understanding of analytical measurement tools as well as an understanding of accounting and financial analysis.
Demonstrated experience with integrated Purchasing Systems (PLEX, IFS, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP system); and demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience managing supplier productivity and working with suppliers for value creation
High level of diplomacy and a demonstrated comfort interacting with people at all levels within an internal organization and external supplier organizations
Outstanding leadership skills including established comfort in leading commodity teams and managing agreement implementations in a complex environment
Self-driven, results-oriented, and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision
Strong written/oral communication skills
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, financial reporting, and legal aspects of procurement
Demonstrated experience working with all functional areas and suppliers to ensure the on-time delivery of materials/services to end users with the lowest total cost of ownership.
Experience with warehousing and distribution concepts and management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree in a business, technical, or related area preferred; with 5 years manufacturing experience in a material planning/purchasing function.
Previous purchasing/planning experience a must.
Good understanding of materials management and purchasing concepts.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
