BUYER/MATERIALS MANAGER Oasys Water
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Oasys Water is seeking an experienced Buyer/Materials Manager to join our rapidly expanding team. This position will be responsible for end-to-end purchasing and materials management for a number of different commodity groups. The person will be responsible for tactical execution to keep our projects running on time and on budget, as well as long term process development to help build our world-class supply chain organization.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:
Provide materials in a project based environment, supporting Engineering and Product Development and delivering to our customer and Project Manager?s needs
Managing the RFQ process: RFQ package development, supplier identification, RFQ management, supplier evaluation and selection, etc.
Managing the buying process: negotiating final pricing and terms and conditions with suppliers, working with suppliers and project managers to find mutually acceptable dates, issuing POs, etc.
Managing schedules to ensure materials are manufactured and available when needed
Managing and arranging logistics to ensure materials arrive on time, without damage, at lowest total cost
Manage suppliers for continuous improvement in quality, delivery, cost and cash
Preferred candidate qualifications:
Self-starter with strong ability to execute
Desire to help develop, and work in, a world class supply chain organization
Bachelors degree - concentration in business, engineering or operations
At least 3 years experience in buying, purchasing, materials management, etc. ? ideally for a company with strong operations
Experience working in a project-based supply chain environment
Detail oriented, process, and system based thinker
Experience with lean, six sigma, etc. principals
Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ?ERP? systems and MS Access
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Willingness to travel 10%
