Buyer/Materials Specialist (026) Relypsa
The Buyer/Materials Specialist will be responsible for the areas of: purchasing; materials handling; shipping/receiving and providing general G&A support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing company requisitions/purchase orders with vendors for best pricing and service, maintaining company consumable items and lab supplies from receipt to customer issuance
Review receipt of all materials to ensure items match purchase orders and the quality of the materials
Maintain receiving materials by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating materials and supply needs; and placing and expediting orders as needed
Maintain compressed gas inventory, change out compressed gas tanks and related functions
Issue stage and replenish materials to support cGMP and non cGMP lab operations as well as administrative functions
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed including set up for company events, meals, conference room set up, replenishing of copy paper/office supplies, ordering and stocking of company provided refreshments, etc.
Assume responsibility for all aspects of shipping and receiving including: hazardous materials shipping; animal/biological shipments and distribution of bulk drug compounds to contract partners
Ensures DOT/IATA & HAZMAT compliance
Follows SOP?s and makes revisions as necessary
Additional responsibilities include supporting providing assistance to facilities, EH&s and other departments as necessary
4+ years of experience in a cGMC biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment required
Ability to obtain a Hazardous Materials endorsement
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to lift 50 pounds
IATA/DOT certification for the shipment of dangerous good preferred
