Buyer - Packaging, Accessories, and Marketing Collateral Jawbone

Responsibilities:

In this exciting role you will be a part of a Global Purchasing Team Youll get to work with Customer Care, Product Management, Engineering and Design.

This position will be responsible for purchasing raw materials, finished goods and services for the support of the manufacture of resale consumer electronics products. This role will also serve as the liaison between the product marketing, design team, and suppliers to ensure new components and packaging are developed, quoted and purchased for new product launches.

Coordination of supplier activities for new products and projects throughout the New Product Introduction lifecycle from sampling, prototypes, pilot and mass production builds with the factory, to supporting on-time delivery for Jawbone customers.
Conduct Request for Quotation for the packaging and accessories of consumer electronics products for resale, as well as marketing collateral and promotional items.
Monitor requirements for accessories and customer warranty replacement components.
Identify alternate suppliers and coordinate competitive quotes to alternate suppliers/components in support of the product management team.

Negotiate pricing and contracts with supply base, and make recommendations to management on cost reduction opportunities and prevention of overspending.
Manage inventory and purchases to a budget.
Authorize payment of invoices or return of goods to supplier.
Arrange transportation of goods purchased.
Support Supplier Quality team to manage supplier qualification and on-going quality level of goods delivered.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills in order to work effectively with all levels of management
5 years (minimum) experience buying packaging and accessories for Consumer Electronics
Candidate should be organized, analytical, motivated, energetic, and posses strong math capabilities.
Previous experience working with fast-paced, new product introductions
Asia sourcing experience, including supply chain management and contract manufacturers, preferred
Expert with Microsoft Office
Experience with integrated MRP and PDM systems
Bi-lingual English/Mandarin, preferred

Education:

BA/BS in Supply Chain management or related field.
