Responsible for the planning, purchasing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of products through the complete production cycle.
Responsible for planning component purchases and subassemblies to support the manufacturing plan while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Purchase material as needed to support schedules; provide required documentation to suppliers; follow up with POs as needed to ensure the timely receipt of components and subassemblies.
Ensure the accuracy of the item master and vendor lead time data in the ERP system.
Responsible for obtaining quotes and negotiating with suppliers.
Assist in developing new supplier sources where suppliers are inadequate or when new suppliers / technologies are required.
Work with the Quality department to assure the timely flow of product through QC inspection processes as well as the appropriate disposition of non-conforming materials.
Provide input pertaining to obsolete material.
Able to evaluate suppliers based upon price, quality, service support, reliability and selection.
Attend daily production meetings.
Participate in Master Scheduling meetings.
Resolve shop order variances and determine/track root causes.
Analyze purchase price variances.
Ensure that marketing/clinical needs are met.
Provide support in stockroom, shipping and receiving when required.
Ensure data input and document filing completed in a timely manner.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
Minimum of 6 years experience in Planning/Purchasing
Previous medical device (4 years or more) strongly preferred.
Experience reviewing contracts and negotiating with suppliers is a plus
Knowledge and experience in the utilization of ERP systems.
Inventory management knowledge to include knowledge of various inventory transactions.
Experience working within a rigorous quality system environment (ISO 13485, FDA cGMP/QSR).
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong MS Office skills.
