| The Boston startup scene is ground zero in a talent war for developers. The traditional notion of starting a company requires an intense commitment from a small number of incredibly talented co-founders for a 2 to 5 year period of time. Eric Ries, creator of the Lean Startup philosophy talks about a method of building companies that eliminates wasteful investment by focusing development resources only on features and products that have been validated by customers. This idea of "building lean" has received an incredible amount of attention from successful entrepreneurs, investors and the media. When the Dropbox co-founders started implementing Lean Startup principles the company grew from 100,000 registered users to 4 million users. The company is now valued at over 5 billion. The current process of starting a company over a period of several years is inefficient and incompatible with Lean principles. The most efficient way to build successful companies is to consolidate the resources involved with launching a startup. CJR Business Solutions is a software development company that will specialize in working with multiple early stage companies to build their ideas and test them for traction. This will be accomplished by building a minimum viable product (MVP) and helping the company with a launch to validate the startup's core business. If the MVP is validated through traction then CJR will continue to build the product and help the company hire a team of in house developers in preparation for a series A round. The companies will assign a portion of equity to CJR for this work. |
