Financial trading systems seemingly grow more sophisticated by the day ? this increased sophistication leads to increased complexity and management costs. In the Middle Office Technology team, we work with the front-office trading system team and with our internal support staff to build best-in-class software for settlement, clearing, and risk monitoring. All of our software is built on top of Liquidnet?s modern technical infrastructure and makes heavy use of open source projects.
In this position you will be developing both server-side and web-based tools for internal and external users. You will work on an agile team that maintains a prioritized backlog of work and has constant feedback from its global customer base. We will invest in your education through internal training and provide a budget for you to attend conferences. Your direct manager will be writing code with you through the project. You will work with highly skilled and motivated technologists who are encouraged to think for themselves and to try new and innovative solutions to problems. You will gain insider perspective on Wall Street by working for a small firm with a unique value proposition and dedicated customer base.
Writing lots of smart code supporting the global Member Services team.
Working with customers to design solutions to their problems.
You will be challenged to continuously improve your code, the code of your peers, and human/automated processes around you.
Proficiency with C++ is desired but not mandatory.
Experience with API/Socket based asynchronous programming models.
Proficiency with middleware (transports) and OO design.
The ability to communicate effectively and clearly in written and spoken English to your fellow coders, technical staff, and business people.
Strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of financial services is a plus.
