MANUFACTURING CAPITAL PROJECT ENGINEER
The primary responsibility of this position is to support production of Fuel Cell Stacks and Power Plants with a focus on design, specification, procurement and installation of capital equipment. This position involves close interaction with numerous engineering disciplines and hourly functions. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. Must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Must be detail oriented, organized and able to multitask effectively. This is a contract position.
Be responsible for all aspects of the Capital Equipment procurement and installation Process including Concept Review, Preliminary Design Review, Detailed Design Review and budget management.
Define Functional Requirements, create Statements of Work, prepare Requests for Quote and all associated documentation.
Work with Product and Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Area personnel to determine equipment requirements.
Lead Peer Reviews, FMEA?s, PFMEA?s, EH&S Reviews related to new tooling and equipment changes.
Manage procurement and implementation of designed tooling/equipment.
Maintain document revision control and document all vendor communications.
Work closely with outside vendors and internal groups to maintain project schedule.
Utilize Tooling amenable to high volume manufacturing. Must be safe, easy to use and low maintenance. Use of COTS materials is preferred wherever possible.
Be proficient with varied manufacturing concepts such as Lean, SPC, Capacity Analysis, JIT, MRP, Kanban, TQM, PM, etc.
Minimum Education Requirements:
BS in applicable engineering field.
Varied computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ProE, AutoCAD
Preferred Experience / Skills:
At least 5 years experience in manufacturing, preferably in a high volume production environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Work independently, and proactively.
Experience with Capital Equipment procurement and Installation.
Familiarity with electromechanical production equipment.
