Job Description:
GENOA HEALTHCARE is a nationwide, leading provider of pharmaceuticals, services and information to persons diagnosed with mental illness and other chronic health disorders. We are a rapidly growing and successful organization with a strong reputation in servicing the mental health community via a network of clinic pharmacies housed within mental health agencies throughout the United States.
Summary:
Performs a variety of duties related to posting payments. Investigates and reconciles patient accounts as necessary. Provides support to the Accounting Department. Cash Application (Accounts Receivable Clerk) experience preferred.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts from all insurance payers.
Post check payments from patients, facilities, and patient representatives/payees.
Review all remittance advices for accuracy to identify errors or questionable data.
Research and resolve unapplied/unidentified cash receipts.
Reconciles payments and shortages for both paper and electronic EOB?s.
Accurately prepare Deposit Summary Sheet for each batch.
Ability to meet individual and team goals with minimal errors as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Executive Management.
Uphold Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance guidelines in relation to billing, collections, and PHI information.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide coverage for fellow teammates when they are out of the office.
Have the ability to be flexible with your work schedule if it is necessary to meet deadlines or deliverables as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Executive Management. This is a requirement during End of Month Close.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to type 50 wpm. This is normally acquired through one to three years of clerical experience.
10-key by touch.
Ability to be a participating member in a cooperative work environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities, in a diverse environment.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage various work assignments in a fast paced, high volume environment.
