Category Development Manager Tremor Video
This position is responsible for helping drive category revenue and marketer adoption of Tremor products by working in conjunction with sales, marketing, PR and product teams. The position requires the ability to apply category and market expertise to decipher clients? needs.
As a category development manager you will have the opportunity to work in conjunction with sales, marketing, product and business development teams to shape the Tremor Media?s ?brand story? inclusive of product positioning, marketing, event and communications for the Auto Category to drive the adoption of these of strategies to ultimately accelerate revenue growth.
Leadership/Organization: Establish and maintain category leadership position though management of bi-monthly category team meetings, quarterly and yearly category analysis as assessment and day to day team needs
Sales support: Work in conjunction with sales leads to review incoming RFP?s (requests for proposal) from clients and agencies as a means to provide input on ideal positing, products to propose and client communication assist in crafting client responses where necessary
Category positioning and Strategic Presentations: Develop and adjust core category pitches and stories for presentation and delivery to Auto clients; Help Sales communicate insights and value proposition from a non-sales POV; work with Marketing teams to develop custom presentations/collateral as necessary
Category insights: Analyze market trends and competitive category landscape to understand and inform POV on client spending and strategies; Monitor category-specific campaign trends and work with research team to build proof of performance and category thought leadership through case studies; drives sales strategy though market research where applicable
Research: Recommend 3rd party research partners to help build category story, drive larger deals; Develop research and client-specific solutions to deliver actionable insights for clients
Ad products: Maintain fluency in the ad products/features/capabilities that make sense for category; Recommend new products/features/etc. when recurring themes in the marketplace uncover a gap between current offering and key client needs
Market Facing Responsibilities: Establish and cultivate client relationships; Identify and attend industry events as necessary; Manage and/or recommend industry or local events where we should have a brand presence; Work with Marketing and research to plan thought leadership events
Communication: Regularly communicate critical insights, news, ideas to Sales to provide outreach and thought leadership opportunities; Be the intelligent voice for Auto on behalf of Tremor Media via direct outreach (newsletters) and/or social media
5+ years of media or marketing experience ideally with a familiarity of Auto Category
Experience working with media planning and buying agencies is plus
Solid understanding of the media landscape, specifically digital media, rich media video and/or digital TV
Understanding and proficiency with standard research services, eg Nielsen, Compete, IAB, comScore, Kantar, comScore, etc.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Open to traveling at least 25% of the year (minimum of 1 time per quarter to NY and/or LA)
