Job description:Semprius is a North Carolina based clean energy company that produces high efficiency concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) modules. In an effort to maximize the efficiency and energy yield of its products, Semprius is seeking candidates for a solar cell characterization and test engineering position. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving a suite of characterization instruments and techniques.
Responsibilities:
? to document, refine, and streamline standard operating procedures for quantum efficiency, dark I-V, and concentrated light I-V measurement
? to characterize concentrator spectral transfer functions
? to track cell performance trends throughout pilot production
? to provide precise and accurate cell performance data to the rest of the design team
? to maintain test equipment in calibration and manage internal calibration standards
? perform on-sun test measurements of single receiver concentrator units and full CPV modules
Candidate Requirements:
? Bachelor?s Degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar
? programming skills required in high-level computer language on the .NET development platform (VB.NET, C++ or C#)
? working knowledge of semiconductor devices, especially solar cells
? excellent written and oral communication skills
? excellent hands-on laboratory skills
? quick learner
? careful attention to detail
