CELL PHONE REPAIR TECHNICIANS - 1ST SHIFT New Breed Logistics
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
We are seeking Cell Phone Repair Technicians and our reverse logistics and cell phone repair center in Ft. Worth. Work schedule is M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm. Overtime may be required to 4:30pm
Troubleshoot, repair and refurbish cellular phone to ?like new" condition. Perform basic troubleshooting, replace modular electronic circuits or electromechanical assemblies, and plastics.
Essential Functions:
Follow directions and daily work assignments direct by the supervisor or lead
Based on failure descriptions, determine the required repair and perform the repair if with Level 2 scope of operations
Follow work instructions to replace cosmetically defective plastic parts with new plastic parts and replace modular electronics circuits or electromechanical assemblies
Perform basic soldering, including discrete surface mount devices usually having 3 leads or less and multi-conductor connectors (fine-pitch, integrated circuit soldering skills are not required for this position)
Reprint and apply ESN labels as needed
Enter data into computer tracking system
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Recommend changes to improve process methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch
Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
Perform high volume tasks
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or an equivalent Technical Training Certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent military technical training; Original Equipment Manufacturer?s certification in cell phone repair may be substituted for degree, certificate or training with one year experience
Six months to one year directly related experience preferred
Must be able to demonstrate soldering skills required to perform Level 2 repairs, including basic surface mount soldering skills; must be able to demonstrate the use of a digital multi-meter in isolating an electrical failure; must be able to demonstrate knowledge of electrical theory and practical electronics sufficient to identify the individual components of an electronics system and describe their functions in that system by reading a schematic diagram
Ability to speak, read (fine print) and write in English; follow verbal and written directions; write simple correspondence; effectively communicate information to other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Good computer skills, ability to use Windows driven software; must be detail oriented and have the ability to perform matching (able to match handset model with replacement parts); ability to use basic precision tools
