Summary of Functions:
Due to continued growth we are seeking Cellular Phone Repair Supervisors on 2nd shift at our 2000+ employee reverse logistics and repair center in Ft. Worth.
Summary of Functions: Supervise and coordinate activities of production employees performing cellular phone repair and refurbishment. Ensure customer and company requirements are met, both in quality and production volume. Enforce safety policy and all other applicable company policies. This position will be a subject matter expert in troubleshooting, repairing and refurbishing cellular phones for various manufacturers up to and including complex, component level repairs.
Essential Functions:
Study production schedules, estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment and assign duties; establish or adjust work assignments to meet production schedules and forecasts
Maintain awareness of daily production and quality goals; assist employees to attain individual and department productivity and quality goals; initiate and suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
Interpret process specifications and work orders to workers, implement changes to work instructions and provide training to workers
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of processes
Ensure all applicable technical and field service bulletins are implemented effectively
Review or maintain productivity and quality data for the department; promote quality and raise awareness of the New Breed QMS; identify and communicate quality failures and train employees to prevent re-occurrences; improve process methods and quality of product
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and work crew; estimate, requisition, and inspect materials
Interpret company policies and procedures; project and establish New Breed work ethic and culture with a positive leader approach; enforce safety regulations and assure proper procedures are followed by all workers; maintain time and attendance records; initiate progressive discipline where patterns of poor performance are exhibited; resolve disputes, coach and encourage staff, promote a team environment
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
Ensure housekeeping activities are performed daily to maintain a neat, clean and organized department
Apply comprehensive, technical knowledge and experience to analyze and resolve complex work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
Follow directions and daily work assignments given by the shift manager
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in Electronics Technology, or an equivalent Technical Training Certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent military technical training
Three to five years hands-on repair experience with an emphasis on cellular phones; experience on multiple manufacturers? equipment is desired; should be comfortable describing various cellular technologies, specifically CDMA
Must have experience with various soldering tools and techniques; must be able to evaluate and train soldering skills required to perform typical Level 3 repairs; must have experience with various test equipment including digital multi-meters, variable power supplies, spectrum analyzers and cell site simulators; must be able to demonstrate knowledge of electrical theory and practical electronics sufficient to identify the individual components of an electronics system and describe their functions in that system by reading a schematic diagram
Must have experience with warehouse management or inventory systems; should have experience working in an ISO environment
Two to four years experience in a leadership role with previous supervisory responsibilities strongly preferred
Ability to effectively communicate information to other employees of the organization; ability to speak, read (fine print) and write in English; able to follow verbal and written directions; ability to write simple correspondence
Must be able to perform semi-complex mathematical operations involving percents and time variables
Ability to deal with problems involving abstract and concrete variables, in both standard settings and unexpected situations; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions
Good computer skills, ability to use Windows driven software; must be detail oriented and have the ability to perform matching (able to match handset model with replacement parts); ability to use basic precision tools
