| Description: | We are looking for a unique blend of talents. Youll need great client relationship skills to build strong partnerships with retail executives, and strong sales skills to engage the retail organization in promoting these services. This is a relatively new role within Bazaarvoice, so you must be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and with a sales closer mentality. This doesnt mean we wont be helping you along the way we absolutely will but we believe in hiring people with the passion, confidence and intelligence to execute like a business owner. To succeed in this role you must be able to: 1. Build strong relationships with senior retail executives, including e-commerce and merchant teams 2. Demonstrate the value propositions of our products and services in onsite meetings and through written and oral communications 3. Motivate a client to action 4. Diligently and continuously encourage clients to promote our services to manufacturers without being seen as pushy 5. Manage a nation-wide territory of retailers within a category (e.g. CE, CPG) and allocate your efforts appropriately to hit targets You also have to be the type of person that craves a challenge and is unafraid to constantly push yourself outside your zone of comfort. A startup is not for the meek, but you will learn as much working here in three months as you would most companies in a year. Requirements for the Channel Development Manager role include the following: - BA/BS or equivalent education - 3-5 years work experience minimum, preferably within the Internet/e-commerce industry or a high-tech start-up - 2+ years experience in business development and/or sales - Excellent social and communication skills you must be at ease presenting both internally and externally - Passion for working with customers and partners you will be in frequent contact with both - Strong analytical and negotiation skills regarding technical and contractual aspects of partner relationships - Highly organized and detail oriented - Desire to constantly learn and process new information about our industry, solution, partners, competitors, and channel marketing in general - Proficient with MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel, and Web 2.0 technologies - Open to 25-40 travel, fluctuating based on need. |
