About the Job:
The Channel Marketing Specialist role is responsible for championing the Next Gen ISV- that is at the early start up stage. The goal is to nurture promising companies through a programmatic approach, helping them to get off the ground and grow into meaningful Twilio partners. The role bridges the gap between this early phase of the relationship and when a company is producing a meaningful revenue stream and as a result deems channel sales involvement. The person in this role will also assist in supporting the general channel marketing effort.
Next Gen ISV is defined as a company focused on building next generation communication solutions that are core to Twilio?s strategic direction.
Role reports to the Manager, Channel Marketing
Owns the design and management of the ISV Advocate Program
On-boards companies into the program and tracks their progress
Serves as the ISV?s contact and liaison into Twilio to help with issues e.g. pricing challenges and unresolved technical issues and build key relationships
Develops and manages key ISV marketing programs, designed for the early stage startups benefit (initial concept list):
o Educational Webcast Series on growing their business
o Technical Workshops on optimizing their Twilio-based offering
o Twilio Early Stage Portal housing content targeted to the early stage company (developed in house and aggregated from other sources)
Owns developing and maintaining the Twilio marketplace content for these companies
Manages lead distribution and tracking from the Twilio website
Reports out on the success of the program and the related companies
Transitions companies to an appropriate channel sales partner manager at the appropriate time
Supports other channel marketing efforts as needed
Ability to think strategically as well as to act tactically required
Excellent organizational and program management skills
Strength in developing processes and making things programmatic
Ability to balance multiple requirements in a fast paced/unstructured environment
Must know how to work with sales in the field
International experience a plus
Strong written and public speaking skills required
5 years of marketing program management experience with preference for channel marketing experience
Undergraduate degree in business/marketing and/or engineering; MBA preferred
Marketing in a start-up environment required
Developer skills a plus
SaaS/Cloud offering exposure preferred
Platform marketing experience a plus
Background in telephony a plus
