CHARACTER TECHNICAL ARTIST Trion Worlds

Use Maya and MEL daily to create complex, custom animation rigging for 3D characters, monsters, and environment objects: build skeletons/joints and assign weights to each vertex to provide realistic anatomy, geometric deformation and movement.
Perform skinning of character and environment models: assign weights to armors obtained by players so that they deform appropriately in relation to the character?s actions.
Use MEL and Python to script, program and automate processes.
Apply a deep understanding of technical art to generate tools, pipelines and processes for computer animation for video games.
Analyze animation and ensure meshes are built with optimum quality.
Debug and resolve technical aspects of character creation including pipeline concerns and game integration.
Perform definition and maintenance of pipelines and technical standards.
Facilitate communication across departments, including character modeling and animation, for artistic and technical consistency.
Work with Art Director to create an established vision for character art.
Use Gamebryo Animation tool and Photoshop to create and manipulate images.
May handle additional technologies, applications and/or responsibilities as business demands require.
Bachelor degree in Animation, Art, or closely related field.
Education or experience must include Maya, MEL and rigging.
