Characterization Engineer, Technology Platforms Peregrine Semiconductor
Description
This position is responsible for Characterization of Analog and Digital IP Circuit Blocks and prototypes for CMOS RF/Analog and Mixed Signal Integrated Circuit products for cellular handset, wireless infrastructure and Hi-Rel applications. Product line includes multi-throw RF switches, Digital Step Attenuators, Digitally Tunable Capacitors, mixers, amplifiers, prescalers and PLLs. The candidate will characterize and support IP Blocks for all Product Lines. As part of a cross-functional product development team the candidate will support other essential disciplines including marketing and applications, project management, characterization, production and test engineering.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
IP Block Characterization: Define, conduct and analyze data from circuit block and product performance characterization. Work with IP Block and Product designers to create Characterization plans and evaluate test results.
Characterization Infrastructure Development: Specify test equipment for purchase, create and maintain test setups, develop software for automated test and measurement.
Production ATE Development: Work with Test Engineers to define, develop and ramp production ATE solutions.
Documentation: Document all relevant characterization information.
Product Support: Work with Applications, Product, Test and Manufacturing Engineers to help answer customer questions, assess field failures, support yield improvements, etc.

Knowledge of CMOS IC design for commercial applications - bulk and/or SOI processes
Knowledge and hands on use of RF and electrical engineering measurement equipment
Strength in documentation clarity and completeness
Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
The following traits are highly valued:
Experience in IC product development
Knowledge of IC fabrication and packaging processes
Knowledge of RF IC applications ? switches, amplifiers, mixers, PLLs, etc
Experience with any of the following: Cadence, ADS, HFSS, Momentum, Matlab, JMP, MS Project, Datapower, National Instruments CVI/LabView
Education and Experience:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, 2+ years experience
