Job Description
Supervises staff responsible for compiling and entering charge information in billing system.
Ensures charge information provided is correct and accurate.
Ensures charges from various medical documents are entered into the billing system in an accurate and timely manner.
May contact insurance providers regarding claim denials.
Works with A/R team on follow-up and resolution of coding related denials and rejections.
Acts as a subject matter expert for staff and practice managers and physicians with denials and coding questions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology, coding and CPT-4, HCPCSII and ICD-9-CM.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Procedural Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCS-P) or equivalent required.
5+ years related experience.
2+ years leading and/or managing a team preferre
