Responsibilities

• Develop brake, and hub components and system requirements that are aligned with Tesla program product profile.
• Work with suppliers to create and develop component and subsystem designs for production tooling release.
• Using DFSS methods, work with the project team and key system suppliers to:
  
  • Establish chassis system architecture and functional feasibility.
  • Optimize the concepts and designs.
  • Establish manufacturing, assembly and service feasibility.
  • Complete and release system, sub-system and detail designs.
  • Complete component and system validation, ensuring performance targets are met.
  • Launch the product successfully, with highest quality.
  • Meet chassis and overall project timing and financial constraints.
  • Participate in sourcing process and interface with suppliers as required.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of component and subsystem design verification plans and test methods.
  • Support creation of component specification, component DFMEA, and other technical design documents.

Qualifications

• Three years minimum experience in passenger car brake system engineering activities.
• Demonstrated expertise in successfully engineering vehicle-level braking systems into production.
• Demonstrated skill in both brake system design and validation for serial production vehicles.
• DFMEA/SFMEA and DVP&R experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in DFSS.
• Familiarity with Vehicle Dynamics and NVH fundamentals for brake design.
• Familiarity with federal and international regulations such as FMVSS135, ECE13H, etc.
• Minimum BSME with a preference for MSME .
• Ability to work in small, fast-paced product development environments â€" candidates should have examples of exceptional engineering performance in the context of automotive product development.
