Aquion, Inc. seeks a Chemical Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA, to develop novel functional material optimized for electrochemical energy storage. Specific duties include (i) characterizing and screening electrochemically functional materials combinations; (ii) identifying potential raw material suppliers and ensuring consistent supply of raw materials for manufacturing functional materials; (iii) scaling up and pilot plant testing of potential routes for large scale production of optimized functional materials; and (iv) cost modeling of potential routes and developing a roadmap to low cost, commercial-scale production of high performance materials.
Must have master?s degree in Chemical Engineering or directly related field. Must also know (through coursework or experience): (i) acid manufacturing and handling; (ii) separation and recovery processes (iii) how to perform techno-economic assessments of applications for product innovation; (iv) innovation and supply chain theory; (v) scaled chemical processing and supply chain elements in low cost global regions.
