Shift Times:
M-F Shift 1: 6am-2:30pm
M-F Shift 2: 2pm-10:30pm
Position Overview:
The Chemical Manufacturing Supervisor has the responsibility for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and staff members in the laboratory. Responsible for performing duties so as to operate the lab with the highest quality safety and integrity, and in an efficient, and businesslike manner are of utmost importance.
Summary of essential job functions:
Provides quality leadership and responsibility to the manufacturing and on-time delivery of products.
This position requires the ability to focus people and tools appropriately to achieve daily/weekly Planning and Manufacturing objectives.
Supervise the daily activities of the laboratory. Including but not limited to overseeing employee safety and productivity, inventory of both raw, stock, production materials, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Manage process chemists to ensure proper production of nano-crystal material. Including but not limited to training, delegation of work assignments, scheduling, discipline, and mentoring employees.
Establishes and supports a work environment of Continuous Improvement. Asks employees for their ideas and implements whenever feasible.
Able to move qualified people for coverage purposes and manage temporary workers up and down according to business demands.
Perform technical troubleshooting.
Participate and contribute to technical development, new product development, and capacity planning.
Perform process optimization experiments and analyze data.
Perform projects as assigned.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
5 ? 10 years supervisory experience in a laboratory environment.
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience with air free technique, polymer science and fluorescence spectroscopy is desired.
In depth knowledge of production operations, including equipment, materials, and work flow, etc.
Excellent organizational and time management skills demonstrated by ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast paced work environment.
Familiarity with Operational Excellence such as Six Sigma /Continuous Improvement programs, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc.
