QD Vision is a Boston-area start-up, leading quantum-dot material advancements and manufacturing process development for next-generation solid-state lighting and visual displays. Our interdisciplinary team focuses on eliminating the shortcomings of existing lighting and display products by achieving the unique combination of tunable color, low power consumption, scalable manufacturing, and best-in-class viewing experience.
We are looking for an individual to provide process engineering support in a cross-functional team. You will focus on characterizing, documenting, developing and maintaining the manufacturing systems for producing high-performance semiconductor nanocrystal quantum dot containing mixtures that find use in our end product applications.
Conduct laboratory and pilot testing as necessary to validate ideas and new process equipment, develop design data and generate process information.
Collect data, analyze and interpret results to develop equipment and process specifications.
Design and specify the equipment required for process development and scale-up.
Lead manufacturing equipment modifications and maintenance of the high performance manufacturing processes.
Supervise external contractors and provide hands on assistance as needed to support equipment fabrication and installation activities.
Supervise manufacturing operators and technicians as well as providing hands on support during process startup activities.
Work independently and with the team to implement commercially viable manufacturing processes.
Write process SOP?s and batch sheets, also train operators as necessary.
BS in Chemical Engineering (5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or process development).
Project management experience with demonstrated success in leading projects from conceptual design through startup and qualification is a bonus.
Outstanding communication skills to effectively drive projects in the team environment.
Chemical manufacturing experience in batch operation kilo scale/pilot plant environment is required.
Experience with air-free chemical systems is preferable.
Knowledge and experience with quality and environmental management systems (ISO9001 and ISO14001) a plus.
