Job Description:
Position summary:
Provides vision and strategy for all data management initiatives. Champion for global data management, governance, quality and vendor relationships across the firm. Responsible for data management activities performed by data stewards and data service providers. Works with executives, data owners, and data stewards to achieve data accuracy and process requirement goals for all internal and external consumers
Essential Responsibilities ?
Establishes data policies, standards, organization and enforcement of data governance.
Executive reporting on progress of data management governance including metrics.
Coordinator for the Data Working Group; acts on behalf of the Working Group for day-to-day oversight
Leads the creation of program business definitions and data management goals and principles.
Monitors data quality efforts within Conning and provides a central authority for the resolution on data issues.
Establishes data vendor management and provides oversight.
Educate the organization on data workflows, the appropriate place to get data, data vendor capabilities, definition and appropriateness of data, rules on data access, and other data related issues
Requirements -
Project oversight for data initiatives across Conning. Evaluates data movement with all projects and ensure our data strategy is enforced.
Manages data management budget and data related systems initiatives.
Bachelor?s Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science or other relevant field.
10+ years of relevant data management experience including architecting data management solutions and designing/developing data governance policies/standards.
Strong project leadership and management skills to lead organizational change to effectively meet strategic and tactical goals
Strong written and verbal communications skills required. Equally comfortable discussing the strategic perspective with executives and implementation details with operational staff and IT.
Organizational/political agility with the ability to drive large cross functional programs involving coordination with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to help define and articulate the strategic vision, and translate it into tactical implementable steps.
Solid knowledge of the industry, business and investment technology of data management within an investment organization.
Strategic decision making skills with a high degree of latitude
